Hip pain: Im 39 weeks pregnant with low/hip back pain.First pregnancy don't know if i'm in labor or not.?

Im 39 weeks pregnant with low/hip back pain.First pregnancy don't know if i'm in labor or not.?I am 39 weeks pregnant and im due this monday. This is my first pregnancy.I been having low back/hip pain and my due date is this monday.Last week my doctor told me i was 1 cm dilated and that the baby is in position already.I been having some kind of weird discharge for the past 3 weeks like very mucous like. The color is yellow i don't know if this is the mucous plug that the nurse have told me.The last time i had a contraction it was last week on saturday but it was just braxton hicks i believe so.Also i have noticed that my belly has gotten smaller and very low.Plzz help and let me know if i have to go to the hospital.

from what I hear the pain will start in your back and radiate around to the front....Im due on monday too and I've gone to the hospital 3 times and been sent home, I've been 2cm and 70% effaced for almost a week now. unless you have had cervical change or your water has broken they will unfortunately send you home, it's so disappointing, I cried last time because I was contracting on the monitor for 20 minutes and because she checked me and I made no change I got the boot.....Call your OBGYN they can best advise you.....

Sounds as if the baby is engaged or in position for l and d. If your contractions are coming regularly like every 7 min or every 4 to 5 min and getting closer then go to the hospital! If they are sporadic....one now and another in ten minutes and then another in 15....I would wait a while longer. If they're 8 min or less apart go to the hospital. As always honey if you're worried just go whether u know or not. Its their job to determine and u don't wanna take any risks. Congratulations! Hip and back pain are still parts of labor

You sound just like me and sorry but I don't believe either of us are in labor, or even technically the beginning of it. Our bodies are prepping for sure though. I'm due on tuesday and just had a doc apt today. First, it sounds like you've lost some/or all of your mucus plug. I really wish that thing meant more, but unfortunately losing it doesn't at all mean that labor is right around the corner as some women still way days or even weeks after losing it :( I was sitting at 1 or 1 1/2 cm dilated the past couple weeks and a few days ago I started having lots of the same pains you describe. lower back ache (maybe kinda crampy like as well) I even had the crampy feelings in my belly, not so much in my hips though (i have pretty wide hips to begin with), but long story short, this is most likely the baby descending, bearing down, engaging, moving south, whatever you want to call it, basically kiddo is getting into position and the head and shoulders are pushing on everything down there creating the pain/ache/or even crampy feeling. Some of this pain can also be braxton as well of course. I even had a tiny tiny bit of blood like from broken capillaries from things being stretched apart in there so I was convinced when I went to the doc today that I would have dilated more.....nope lol. Still at 1 or 1 1/2, absolutely no change. You've "dropped" as your belly is lower and seems smaller to you, and again this correlates with what all I already said with the baby just descending lower. So currently I do not believe your in the early stages of labor or actual labor, though inevitably it's probably drawing near and at least our bodies are doing SOMETHING to prep, I feel sorry for women who have absolutely zero symtpoms. Just remember you could go into full blown labor tonight, or you may go way past the due date and be induced. Either way, WE'RE ALMOST DONE!!!!!! YAY!
