Should I go see a doctor for a sharp pain near my left hip?

Should I go see a doctor for a sharp pain near my left hip?For a little over a week I've had a sharp stabbing pain near my left hip, I'm not entirely sure how to describe it's position but it's fairly low down and near that area. I'm not due my ...womanly cycle for while and although the pain is not crippling it is quite uncomfortable. My friend suggests seeing a doctor but I don't want to if it's just something small.

Satisfying question! A subject that i have probed into for the past several weeks, as well. I need to admit that this question you have asked just is not a piece of cakely answered.

i agree with your friend. every small thing can be something(it also can be nothing im not trying to worry you). besides its a doctors job to check you so why shouldn't you go see him?

Might be a good idea to nip in and see your GP.

It could be something small like a muscle twinge or it could be something like an ovarian issue. I had similar when I had a small cyst, it was sorted out real quick when I got it checked and the pain stopped.

Hope it goes well.

well, since a doctor's job is listen to your problems, go see him/her. thats what you are paying them for.

its hard for me to say that it is nothing, you would need to be asked more questions about the type of pain, examined, maybe get an ultrasound or some other tests

something going to the doctor and having them tell you its nothing can be therapeutic(assuming of course they examine you)
