What is the cause of pain after one year of a hip fracture ? No surgery taken due to CRF on dialysis.?Is there any non surgical treatment for a hip fracture (not traction) so that a person can easily move again. The patient is a CRF patient and is on dialysis. He is 74 years old. Are there any supporting belts or something applied externally to the hip?

If a fracture is to be stabilised externally it has to be held rigidly in place from the joint above and the joint below. Any device would have to be placed permanently until the fracture healed and in the case of the hip, because of its location, it would involve rigidity from the waist right down the the knee meaning that the patient would not be able to sit properly. Effectively they would have a stiff leg that did not bend normally to sit. There are no belts or gadgets. The only suitable and effective non-surgical treatment is traction.
