Hip pain: Is there anything I can do about hip pain from sleeping on my sides? (31 weeks pregnant)?

Is there anything I can do about hip pain from sleeping on my sides? (31 weeks pregnant)? It just has started being quite painful, it's on the actual sides, not the same as sciatica which I am also dealing with. Any advice would be great, these sleepless nights are yucky!

Sleep with a pillow between your knees.

As your body adjusts, your ligaments stretch. It was unbearable with my second pregnancy. For some relief, I used two body pillows, one between my arms to between my knees and the other behind my back for support.

Also try to get (or have someone get for you...) a gel-filled mattress cover that will contour with your body. If you can afford it, I guess the Tempurpedic kind would be nice. Otherwise, warehouses like Costco or Sam's Club will sell gel-filled mattress covers for about $ 100-200 but is well worth getting a restful night sleep. :)

i had this... it got the point where it was almost excrutiating... i tried sleeping with a pillow between my knees but it was still quite painful so what i used to do was sleep on my back with my legs up over my husbands side so they were elevated... this meant we slept at funny angles to eachother and i kicked him if he even thought about moving but it was comfy for me and that was all that mattered.

I would also say try gettin a pillow and sleep with that between your legs and see how that will help. You might need to try different firmness of pillows to see which one helps out the best.
