I have hip pain- hip flexor?I just ran my first 10k yesterday, the BolderBoulder. My legs didn't hurt too bad but they were a little sore. I did milk, put my legs at a 90 degree angle with my torso against the wall, to get the lactic acid out. Today I woke up and my legs don't really hurt, but my hips hurt. I tried stretching my hip flexor but it didn't really do much. I have 2 basketball games tonight and I want to know what I can do between now and then to make my hips not hurt or hurt less so I can play my best. Besides taking pain medicine, is there anything I can do? Thanks!

Since hip pain is usually a result of bones there aching, your pelvic area may be strained or you have had the lactic acid accumulate there. I'd rest up to take it easy, be off your feet as able to and just try to let this settle/pass as needed. Not much one can do but to keep comfortable if it's not ongoing pain. If it were a constant pain I'd get it checked personally. But if it's temporary let it pass. Try some stretching excercises but be gentle, don't overdo it. Try to rub the side(s) it hurts on also. That can and should increase oxygen to the area and improve or help the blood flow through that too.
