Severe hip pain at 8 months pregnant?

Severe hip pain at 8 months pregnant?Did anyone else experience really bad hip pain during pregnancy, to the point where walking was just excruciating? (Mine is only on my right side.) I'm having a difficult time putting any weight on my right leg without feeling like my knees are going to buckle from the pain. And lifting my 15 month old or getting up from the floor? Forget it. (I know I shouldn't be lifting her being 8 months pregnant, but when you're a stay-at-home what choice do you have?)

Did anyone else have pain to this extent--what did you do about it?

Yep, I had it. I had SPD, so might be worth mentioning it to your midwife.

Not a lot you can do. Ask your midwife to refer you for physio, and they may give you a support belt which can help.

At 8 months though you don't have long left, so don't expect anyone to be very helpful. That's what I found anyway!

hi when i was pregnant i had the same thing, the pain wouldn't go away when i was standing lying or sitting i found lying in a warm bath help or a hot water bottle helped a little, good luck, hope the pain goes away soon x

This can be very normal.
Either because of the way the baby is laying or everything stretching.
Warm deep baths should help.
You could try a pregnancy band to help with supporting your bump.
Mothercare sell them.
Try not to lift your other baby, even though it's hard not too.
But it will also help her to be more independant, when you are carrying the new baby.
So get her used to it.
Try and rest on your left side only, with pillows for support.
You can take paracetamol, which might take the edge of the pain.

With the first it didnt start till i was about 8 months and it was ... iam 36 weeks pregnant and have been haveing serious hip pain it feels ...

I have spd too at 6 months pregnant .... am in the process of scheduling a visit with a chiropractor who specializes in pregnancy - I hear that can help! Look up the Wikipedia page it has TONS of information!
