What is causing this hip/lower back pain?I'm a 24 year old man, and I've been having this sharp pain in my left hip/butt/lower back for about a week now. No history of trauma or any new physical activity, but it hurts to put weight on my left leg, or to extend or abduct my hip. There is also some tenderness around the SI joint. It's about a 8/10 pain in the mornings, but I take some ibuprofen and it makes it more like a 3/10 during the day. I'm taking three 200mg tablets about three times a day because I have to walk around the hospital (I'm a medical student).
It has hurt in the same area last year, and I was diagnosed with piriformis syndrome. But usually that gets better with some stretches -- this time the stretches seem to make it worse.
Can anyone offer some advice? I'm seeing my doctor this Saturday if it doesn't get better by then.

you should try changing your shoe soles to some more comfortable ones . im no doctor but if my feet hurt at work my back is more than likely to hurt also....peace

walking around the hospital is probably what is causing it to hurt worse!!
walking around on those hard floors for hours at a time without sitting down can really take a toll on your feet and legs.
