Bad hip pain when sleeping on my side....?Before you say "Well don't sleep on your side then!", hear me out.
I have a family history of osteroperosis and my Mum has just been diagnosed with early signs and is taking calcium supplements.
So, whenever I lie on my side at night I will get TERRIBLE pain in my hip around the point of pressure. If I turn over the pain will pass quite quickly to the other hip and if I shift onto my back, the pain doesn't go away no matter what I do and I wind up not being able to sleep for the rest of the night!
Do you think this is a sign of early bone problems or is it just an unfortunate coincidence? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I had the same problem with my hips for years. A few months ago after reading alot about side sleepers, I changed my mattress to a mid firm plush mattress. I was sleeping on a firm mattress that I have learned is bad for people who sleep on their sides. I am not having anymore problems with my hips since changing the mattress. Maybe it's just your mattress.

Try a new mattress if yours is older than 7 yrs old. This is very common and most people wouldn't think it.
