Hip pain: I have left side mid to low back pain and iliac crest area pain?

I have left side mid to low back pain and iliac crest area pain? For about 2 months I have had left side pain from right below the waistline to the hip region that feels like a tight muscle. I tried p.t. but it didn't really help. I also have a pinching feeling when I lay on my left side right around my iliac crest. I have tried rubbing the discomfort, stretching, heat, ice but can't really get much relief. Sometimes, it also seems to just ache in that area. I would appreciate any insight!

Tight muscles in the lower back can press onto the nerves going to the hips which could cause that pain to happen or your could have a pinched muscle in the back itself sending the pain around the body to that area to cause that pain. To get rid of pain caused by either of these things you have to free up the muscles in your back and here's how to do that:
Back:
(do from a sitting position)
Place your left hand on your left leg next to your body. Place your right hand over your left shoulder, fingers over the back and the palm in the front and firmly pull down on them and hold. After 30 seconds slowly lower your body forward and to the outside of your left leg, keeping your left arm fairly straight as you do. When you reach your lap remain there for another 10 seconds, release the pressure but rest there for another 30 seconds. Then reverse your hand positions and do your right side.
For best results relax your body first by taking a deep breath and exhaling then remain this relaxed.
