Hip pain: What do you think the specific cause of this hip pain is?

What do you think the specific cause of this hip pain is?I am experiencing pain just above the iliac crest to the right of my spine. It feels like bone-on-bone rubbing. However, now I'm wondering if it is a pinched nerve that just feels like friction. This has been brought on through leg presses, bench presses, and is exacerbated by running. I am decreasing the intensity of my work out. I am not able to see a physician at the moment. Please keep your answer specific: probably a joint, nerve, muscle or tendon issue? Thanks for your time.
More specifically, does nerve and muscle pain sometimes feel like some other type of misalignment?

Stop all exercise for about two weeks and see if this helps pain and if it does, try another exercise regimen that might cause less stress to your hip. Also try moist heat or a heating pad to area to decrease muscle spasms and inflammation.

You answered your own question.

You need to see an orthopedist, but you say you are unable to see a physician at this time.

The only way you will know what is wrong and what should be done is to have an orthopedist have X-rays, MRIs, etc. to check joints and nerves.
