Pain in left side right above hip bone?

Pain in left side right above hip bone?Im having pain in my left side right above/sort of next to my hip bone. I don't know if my ovaries are right there or what is there but its hurting. During last intercourse, a few days ago, I got a sharp pain in the RIGHT side as soon as he got deep. It's not my hips or anything that's wrong. It's like my ovaries or whatever the heck is right there. Any suggestions as to what could be wrong?

Painful intercourse in usually a sign that something could be wrong. If you have never had an GYN exam I would go in and have one and tell your doctor that you are having pain. My sister had the same problem at 18 and it turned out that she had cysts on her ovaries. Good luck

PandaBear...yes, many women can feel a tinge specific to left or right lower abdomen when ovulating. Are you mid-cycle...about two weeks after your last period started? Some women may feel just one ovary, others may feel both sides, normally alternating from one side to the other from month to month. You may want to make a note of which side you feel the discomfort on on a calendar. Next month note whether you have again noticed the discomfort and on which side you felt it. And about the discomfort during sex, he may just be banging up against your cervix. If you have never seen a gynecologist it would be a good idea to go, have a routine exam, and talk about some birth control.
