severe hip pain?

severe hip pain?i am having severe hip pain all the time especialley if i sit for to long. when i get up to walk my hips hurt very badley and sometimes i cant hardley stand up or walk. what could this be and what can i do to make it quit hurting all the time. thanks sherri

Bursitis is the most common cause of hip pain (can be caused by prolonged sitting)

I'm sure like many things a multitude of issues can cause this problem. I would suggest you visit your doctor to begin defining the source of this issue.

As for me I'm a member of the "Over the Hill Gang" and I have recently been researching this same issue for myself. Hmmm a good candidate for me seems to be the old standby Arthritis - I have it everywhere else so why not sprinkle a little in the Hip! LOL

The doctors can give you medicine which can improve your "Quality of Life" rather sharply if it's Arthritis. However, Maybe it's only a strain or something simple. A Doctor will provide your Best Answer.
