What is the best way to cure piriformis syndrom so I can return to running.?I have been suffering with piriformis for 3 months. Have been stretching daily, PT for my hip, and getting deep tissue massages. Has anyone else tried any other treatments that work. I can run slowly 4-5 miles, but continue to have a itchy pain in my hip. Any sugestions would be appreciated.

There is no TRUE cure for piriformis syndrome. Based of what you said, so far you are doing everything right. Stretching, and massages will definitely help ease the pain in you hip. Many websites suggest seeing a physical therapist and have them asses and give you a specific exercises to do to get rid of the pain. Also anti-inflammatory medicines (ibuprofen) can be taken to reduce the pain from the irritating nerve.
