anyone had a bone graft from hip bone?

anyone had a bone graft from hip bone?i injured my ulna years ago, in a mva, had it plated-had it taken out 2 years later, now i found out due to pain, it never healed, the surgeon wants to graft bone from my iliac crest aka hip bone,and put that in the ulna,and re-plate it to get it to heal proplery, how painful is this?
he will also be doing arthroscopy on my wrist to repair a damaged endon at the same time...anyone had this done? how painful?

ive never had it done before but you should be asleep during the surgery so you obviously shouldnt feel that. but it should be sore after the surgery. goodluck :D

Im not going to lie to you it is one of the most pain full medical procedures available today but with modern pain killers you will be OK. Judging what you are telling us the surgery is necessary (doctors don't preform surgery for no reason)
