Can't exercise b/c of pain...any hope for weight loss?


Can't exercise b/c of pain...any hope for weight loss?My mom is 55 and has given up on dieting. She doesn't overeat, eats relatively healthy foods and can barely walk 1 mile without severe back and hip pain. She gives up on anything after about 2 weeks if she sees no results. She needs to lose about 15-20lbs right away (w/ in 2-3 weeks)in order to stick with anything. Help my mom feel better about herself. I've tried everything.
Please only answer if you have had personal experience with quick diet loss and lost at least 40lbs. Don't need pat answers like eat 2000 cal/day and exercise 30 min/day. Thanks!

I had chronic back pain due to herniated discs. excercising in the pool helped me alot. lost 35 lbs. in about 4 months with eating right too of course.

Sweetie, get your mom SIT TIGHT Sitting Wheelchair Exercise by Richard Simmons. The exercises are geared for those that can't get up and move.

If you contact me with your email address, I will gladly give you a diet based on Jenny Craig and Nutrisystem. You can do it yourself at home (unfortunately, yahoo answer's email system doesn't have enough "characters" to allow me to send the diet through them). You won't need to measure anything or count calories. It is all already proportioned. It involves all food groups and is based on 1250 calories. Very healthy. I have shared it with many askers on yahoo answers.

She could also try water aerobics of some sort. No impact to trigger her injuries.
