First postpartum AF - is this normal? (especially for those with irregular cycles) TMI?I have had irregular periods since about 20, although I was on the pill to regulate them until my hubby and I started trying to have a baby. We ended up having to use Clomid, because I wasn't getting my period at all for nine months after going off the pill.
Now I am seven months postpartum. The other day I had some heavy spotting (only when wiping). It went away in less than 1/2 a day. Since then, however, I've been having cramps in my abdomen, back, around my pelvis and hips. I've been craving chocolate (used to be cycle-related). My cramps are much worse than they used to be...but I have no bleeding. I'm not sure whether to assume this is some weird postpartum period or if the bleeding and pain just has to do with slight tearing during "marital activities," which happens pretty often now because they stitched me up tight. The spotting was two days after our most recent time, though...
Was anyone else's first PP period weird like this? Also, how long until you got your first one? I've been nursing and she started solids a little over a month ago, so that might be why I'm getting it now, I guess. Anyway, just want to find out if this is weird and maybe something I should have checked out or if it's totally normal.

My periods have been funny since I had my son which was about 5 months ago and also bleed a tiny bit after intercourse also. I got the Mirena placed 2 months ago though as well. My doctor told me it could take a while for my periods to regulate again not just because of the Mirena but also because of the birth. I also never had cramps until after I had my son. Babies do a number on the human body. It all sounds normal to me but if you are really worried you should go see your doctor.
