Can a herniated disk(s) cause pain in your hips?I am waiting for back surgery due to 2 ruptured disks. Just reacently (about 3 weeks ago) I began getting a lot of pain in both hips. It feels like someone has hammered spikes deep within my hips bone. As I walk it slowly goes away, but upon waking it is almost unbearable to walk.

You don't say which discs are ruptured, but if they're in the lumbar area, it's a good possibility. Why haven't you told your doc? I'm sure he'd want to know. Might even want to move the surgery date up.
