Hip pain: Hip and lower back pain 6 weeks pregnant?

Hip and lower back pain 6 weeks pregnant?I started having lower back pain and hip pain yesterday that was bad. I didn't want to take pain killers cause I'm pregnant. Well I soaked in warm water then used my heat pad and it helped. I've heard some people say that stretching can cause it.I was wondering if it was that or something else? It's also really cold were I live so could that intensify the pain?

People have different pain tolerance, I feel stretching and aches but they were not that bad. You will get ligament and back pain , it's normal. Maybe because you do live in a cold environment you feel them more, because let me tell you, at 6 weeks that is only the beginning.

Lower back & hip pain during early pregnancy usually indicates that your body is adjusting to being pregnant - basically making room. Im happy that you chose not to take any pain killers. Who knows what kind of harm that would do for your fetus.
Sometimes, unfortunately, the pain that you had can also be accompanied with cramping & sometimes... bleeding. THAT is something that any one does not want to have. So, as far as it being something else - not likely. Its just your body adjusting. The same thing happend to me back in November when I was 9 weeks pregnant. ... Now, I cant even fit into any of my old clothes lol. Gotta love pregnancy huh? :) Goodluck!

I had the same thing happen to me. Everyone is different like the person above me said, like I have a high pain tolerance so it just an annoying pain, but I've found to ease it that you do stretching, walking, hot baths, drink tea...I usually just try sipping water, it helps surprisingly enough. And go to this site, it'll help you know what you can and can't take during pregnancies.

I had a very strong and uncomfortable pain in my lower back and down my leg at about 6 weeks. It was so achy. I took one extra strenght tylenol which seemed to help. I would try just one if I were you. Tylenol is okay, but I wouldn't take anything else. Don't worry. It will go away. :)
