Hip pain: Knee and hip pain while running?

Knee and hip pain while running?I know that running shoes can cause you to hurt your knees or hip, and I just recently replaced mine (my old running shoes I was issued right before I started basic for the Army Reserves about 4 years ago and have used for drill, pt, and pt tests) because I started experiencing some pretty bad pain in my knees and right hip.
However, I'm still experiencing the same pain and I just can't run through it, being that it hurts so bad. Does anyone have any advice on what to do? I have to keep running to make sure I can pass my pt tests. Thank you

You're saying that you were sore and in pain with your old shoes right? Well you're injured and bc you're not allowing time to recover it's not going to get better. If you can't take a week or a few days fine, just ice your knees and take some Ibprofen/motrin an hour before a run.

yup, Canadian is right.
you're injured, and shouldnt be running.

first, a visit to the doc wouldnt hurt?
when i first started running, my knee started hurting really bad!
went to doc, my body wasnt producing some kinda lubricant for the knee cap, or something. i got pills and rest. and it never bothered me again.

this is the one time I'd advise those stationary bikes, and laps across the pool etc.
those joints will need rest.

no way i would run more. you run thru the burn, not thru pain! there IS a difference.
Some olympic runners have parked themselves, and missed their dream, because of injuries.
you're not alone to be frustrated, and wanting to run. but dont.
inuries need time to heal.
ICE is for sore muscles, not to mask or tolerate injuries.
ditto pain killers.
go swim some. work the bike.
but get to a doc and see if the injury can get worse without treatment?
SHOES....SO important. we used to run in gym shoes and have tons of problems.
the running shoe invention should rank right up there, next to indoor plumbing
:_)
