Hip pain: Severe Hip Pain - 32 weeks pregnant?

Severe Hip Pain - 32 weeks pregnant?Okay, I'm 32 weeks pregnant with my first.
For a month, I've been having severe hip joint pain in my left hip only.
My back doesn't hurt.
The pain doesn't radiate down my legs.
My right hip is sore, but nothing severe and it's no big deal.

The pain in my hip is like a shooting hot fiery pain that is contained to an area the size of my thumb and it's deep within what I think is my pelvis.

If I bend over, walk, attempt to put that leg into my pants, sit, try to lift that left leg, or pretty much do anything that requires muscles in my left hip, I am incapacitated. I sometimes scream and cry from the pain. It's prevented me from getting to the bathroom or off the floor during yoga and sometimes even keeps me from getting off the couch.

Again, I'm not experiencing any other real severe pain (thank goodness) that I wouldn't just call normal pregnancy stuff (like pelvic pressure/pain, or round ligament pain in my belly, slight pressure during braxton hicks, ya da ya da ya da...).

So, I'm scared I'll go see my doctor Friday (regular checkup) and he'll just be like, "Oh, yeah, that's normal pregnancy stuff..." Then why is it sometimes I simply cannot walk? Occasionally, that occurs mid-intersection and the light is changing. This is very inconvenient as getting killed/hit by a car isn't a normal pregnancy incident with most women.

I just don't get it. I feel like someone's pulled my hip out of socket and is sticking a hot, sharp poker through my hip (just to the left of my last vertebrae).

Please, someone tell me this isn't just something that I'm going to be dealing with for the next almost 2 months. It's getting worse and I WILL be in a wheelchair soon!

Help!
My chiropractor worked at the hip for 30 min. and finally gave up- afraid that much more would tramatize the joint. Nothing he did could help the pain. It simply wouldn't move into place...he wasn't sure why and hadn't ever had that issue before.
Oh, and about that abortion comment. You know what? If you're going to answer my question, don't be a smart ass and tell a women (who obviously wants to be pregnant, but is simply having pain) that's 32 weeks (aka 8 MONTHS) into her pregnancy to have an abortion. It's a waste of everyone's time and no one wants to hear it. Grow up.

Geez, get a new doctor. Do you have any numbness in that leg? Sounds like the uterus may be pushing on your femoral artery, disrupting blood flow. You should go to another dr.

Try laying down with pillows under your butt and legs and see if that eases the pain. or on your right side, if that eases the pain, you know it IS the baby crunching something.

Also when your body is pregnant it secretes a hormone that make your joints weak in order for the pelvis bones to spread more easily when the time comes. Perhaps the hip bones spread apart and came back together on a nerve.

honestly- it is normal...it's just everything manuevring around in your body adjusting it'sself to accomodate the growing baby....maybe if you tell your doc how severe it is, he can give you some meds that is okay to take while pregnant, or even some rememdies you could try at home..

its normal....i think usually with all first pregnancies, everyone experience that. my first pregnancy, i had that too. i could barely walk and sometime almost fell due to that. its like a bone is out of place...try to lay down and relax since you will be having that till you have your baby. it'll recover a month after you give birth to your baby.
