Severe Hip/Groin pain during Pregnancy...?I am 34 weeks pregnant with our first child. Just starting the past 2 weeks I've been having pain in the groin area between the pelvis and inner thigh/hip. Starting 2 days ago I've been having severe back aches, throbbing, and pressure. Those have somewhat subsided, except the back ache and the pain in my groin area. Today however, from the time I woke up I have been in such severe pain there, that I can barely pick up my right leg to even walk. My husband has tried to massage it, stretch me, and has to help me up and help me walk. Also, the baby is also up under my left rib cage and when he moves it feels as if my ribs are going to snap. I've done several exercises trying to maybe get him to move but I was wondering if he could possibly be lodged? Or if he just is in a position he's comfortable and has no intentions on moving. Also, according to my midwife and ultrasound technicians they are saying he's a long and somewhat chubby baby. However, I'm not growing outwards, he is back towards my back and growing more inside me and I feel the pressure on my ribs and hips, pelvis and it feels as if he grows any more he'll shatter my bones. My main question is, has anyone else dealt with this? If so, what did you do? I have an appointment with my midwife on Monday, but I am not sure if I should wait that long. And I definitely don't want to go to the hospital and it be a waste of time because ultimately there's nothing they can do? Any advice is welcome. I am still considering calling the labor and delivery department regarding this, if I do not find any relief. I'm more less wondering if anyone else has ever dealt with this before?

that was how i felt when baby dropped!! if ur feeling pressure u should call ur midwife just to b safe!!
good luck :)
I LOVE my baby Girl on the way!
its called lightening and it is normal after 8 months, its when your baby is gettig ready to drop or has dropped already...you feel pressure down there and when the baby moves you feel like a kick on your pelvic area, at first its like a small pinch, but later (im 39wks) to this point, its alot more intense...even when you walk or sleep you feel this, its unconfortable but its a good sign that your baby's head is pushing down and your cervix is effacing..theres really nothing much we can do about it, but hope that it means labor will be vaginal and normal...=)...Good Luck, Take Care, and God Bless....

I get the ligament stretching under the belly pain and the pelvic pain that subsides after a warm bath or a little change in position.
My legs and hips get really sore at night, I was told to eat more bananas and sleep with lots of pillows for support it kinda helps, but more than that geting up stretching or rubbing the achey muscle helps too. oh and LOL my sweetie pie kicks me in the ribs alot too the only thing that helps with that is laying on my side or moving how I am positioned (no slouching).
due dec. 13... 1st babe!!
Im 37 weeks and i am having the same problems. When my baby gets up under my ribs i try gently pushing my stomach and most of the time he will move. As for the soreness and pain in your hips and groin mine is getting worse and my husband has tried stretching my legs and everything and nothing helps. I told my doctor about it and they said it is normal. I know how bad i hurt and i hope you get some relief mine has been hurting for a few weeks now and apparently there is nothing to do to make it feel better. If you find some relief please let me know what you do!?
