I recently started getting hip pain..is it normal?

I recently started getting hip pain..is it normal?HI i'm 16 and two days ago my hip suddenly started hurting. It started one day when I woke up from sleep, and it hurts when I am sitting down and I stand up. It doesn't hurt as much when I'm standing ( I guess it only hurts when I bend my hips). Uh..no', it's not the side of my hips that hurt, it's the part that connects to my back and spine. I've never had any sort of hip problems, and I've never really damaged it. Is this normal?

I've been doing some research online and I found out that it's a symptom of hip cancer..I don't want that =[.

Also, before my hip started hurting I got a sore throat and I still do.

Should I contact a doctor? I'm hesitant because it doesn't seem too serious,,and I might have just sprained/twisted it or something(not sure if i used the right term).

Don't worry your self to death, you more then likely pulled a muscle in that area, try icing it for a few days for pain relief. This should help and if it is still bothering you after a week and not feeling any better then get in to your doctor, see what they have to say. Good luck

There is a big fat nerve that runs through a hole in the lowest part of your spine. This is around where your hip connects to your spine. This evil nerve is called the sciatic (siy-AT-ick) nerve, and when it is irritated or pinched, it is called sciatica.

I have this problem all the time... ironically, I'm having it right now.

Try taking like four ibuprofen. If that doesn't help, wrap a heating pad around your lower back/butt. When you take a shower, turn the water up as hot as you can stand it and hang over, reaching for your toes as much as you can, letting the hot water beat on the lowest part of your back around your butt.

If it continues to hurt you for several days in a row, I would get some medical advice.
