what can this pain be? on my left side hip?I work in a conscruction/landscaping job. well i am the assitant to the owner.. i sometimes help out like cleaning the jobs that we do but nothing to heavy. i am 18yrs old and i have been getting this pain on my left hip.. like if i lay down on that side it hurts its been going on for a while.. what can it be?? it only hurts when i lay on it or touch it or move that part alot.. please help.. thanks

Hip Bursitis. Bursitis is caused by inflammation of a bursa, a small jelly-like sac that usually contains a small amount of fluid. They act as cushions between bones and the overlying soft tissues, and help reduce friction between the gliding muscles and the bone.
Relationship of trochanteric bursa between the iliotibial band and the greater trochanter. The bony point of the hip is called the greater trochanter. It is an attachment point for muscles that move the hip joint. The trochanter has a fairly large bursa overlying it that occasionally becomes irritated, resulting in hip bursitis (trochanteric bursitis).

Please go and see your doctor,as it could be your kidney that is hurting you.
Or something else in that area on your body causing this pain.
You seem to young to have problems with your hip, unless you had fell on it or been lifting too many heavy items?
