It sounds as if you have a grade 3 or grade 2 injury. You haven't given us much to go on. A visit to your physician might be in order.
It could be a stress fracture. Here are some questions the doctor might to help make a diagnosis:
Is the pain localized? If you try pressing against the bone in the area where it hurts, is there sharp increase in the pain? Can you stand on one leg, using the leg on the side where you feel the pain? Can you hop on that leg?
A "yes" answer to the first two, and a "no" answer to either of the second two are indications of a stress fracture. The fracture could be in the pelvis or neck of the femur.
If you have a stress fracture, you might have to avoid running for two months.
Here are some questions for which a "yes" answer indicates a higher risk of stress fracture:
Over a short period of time, have you significantly increased the amount of training you are doing?
Is your diet short on calcium? Is there a family history of osteoporosis or low bone density problems? Have you menstrual abnormalities?
