How to relieve hip pain from side sleeping?I'm now 20 weeks pregnant and so I'm into the phase of sleeping only on my sides, not my tummy or back. I find that the pressure of being on my hip all night long makes my hips ache terribly by morning, so that I sleep poorly and always wind up waking early.
I'm trying the pillow/bolster between my knees, which brings some relief. But it is still pretty uncomfortable. Although I'm 20 weeks, I'm not showing very much and I've gained about 10 lbs, so I wasn't anticipating this problem so early. I thought this happened more when you were really rotund.
Did this happen to anyone else? Any suggestions for relieving the pain so I can sleep better?

Sleeping is the hardest thing for me being pregnant. I dont remember when it became uncomfortable with my son. But I am only 9 weeks pregnant now and Its already getting uncomfortable. The only thing that helped me with my son was pillows but even then it was uncomfortable.

Roll over every time you wake up.

your only suppose to sleep on your left side, cause if u lay on your right side it reduces blood flow to baby, thats what my Dr told me, and call them and let them know your not sleeping and they can give u something, they gave me amiben to help me sleep, yeah i was wondeing how can i take that pregnant but they told me i could, so u could try and call them and let them know u need something to help u sleep, good luck, i was the same way and got tired of it so i called and told them i wasnt sleeping

This question is on here a lot, so just know that you are not alone. Here are some tips that I have tried to help out. I have also had the hip pain since about 25 weeks.
- Take a warm bath before bedtime to relax and soften your muscles
- Stretch your hip muscles before you get into bed
- Take a tylenol
- Wedge a pillow behind your lower back and rest your belly (even if you aren't showing that much) over a pillow in the front. Try to think of it like propping yourself up, or elevating your body, to help relieve the excess weight on your hips.
- Use a heating pad, if you are truly desperate (but only for a short time)
I had the pain consistently for about a week, and then it went away, but it has come and gone since. I believe its ligament pain combined with the added weight (even if its not that much).
Good luck!
