ouch my hip! please help!!! no one on yahoo answers will help me!?have pain in my right hip for about six months now, but the type of pain has changed.
It started about six months ago when I went to a conditioning session and did tons and tons of lunges. The next day, the front of my hip/top of my thigh was very tight. This tightness persisted for a few months, even though I tried to stretch it everyday.
A few months ago, I was lying on my back while someone pushed my leg toward me to stretch my hamstring. The front/side of my hip felt really tight and it made a "pop" noise and my hip rotated outward. It was fine after, but this occurence happened once more when stretching my hamstring. Since then, whenever I bend over and touch my toes to stretch my hamstring, my right hip feels like it wants to rotate outward for some reason. The tightness in my hip also still exists.
Just last week, my hip issue has changed further. Whenever I lean my torso forward while my knees are bent, I feel a sharp pain in the front and outside of my hip that extends down to my knee. For instance, if I am sitting down and put my head to my knee, I feel this pain. If I bend down with my knees straight, it does not hurt. But if I bend over with my knees bent, my hip hurts. The pain is most severe at the front of this hip, but also hurts on the outside of my hip and a little bit for the first three-five inches of my femur.
For background information, I overpronate my feet and have wider hips than usual. I have had Illiotibial Band Syndrome as well as Chrondomalacia Patella within this time frame (and before) and a knee cap dislocation about two years ago. I am an active person and exercise frequently.
What could this be? Also, what causes it and how do I help it?

Why don't you just go to the doctor?
Yahoo answers will not be able to determine the cause of your symptoms. Get off the internet!!!

Maybe the answer is no one here CAN help you and you need to see a doctor and get the proper tests done.

Go to a Orthopedic Surgeon and have him check it out, take x-rays of the hip e.t.c. Could be you cracked the hip or tore some tendons. Good Luck!
