Snapping Hip Syndrome for a 16 year old! HELP!!!?Okay, after researching a little, now I finally realized that I have a snapping hip syndrome. It all started with a Backflip I did in the first week of September. I did it without warming up and it was cold. SO as I did it, I severely strained my back. I did not let it heal because I couldn't control myself doing the sport it do. I did it over and over again causing to weaken my lower back muscles. SO after a month, in the October first week, I was getting out of the bed and I heard a sudden pop in my groin. Ever since then, if I bring my left or right knee to my chest, then straighten it out, theres a slight pop in my lower back or if I bring knees to the chest while laying on the floor, my both groin hurts, it feels really tight and when I straighten it out, I hear double pop on my lower back. It doesn't hurt though. Its been there for 2 months now and lower back pain for 3 months. I went to the orthopedic doctor, he thought it was just back pain probably because I forgot to mention it. He told me to rest for 6 weeks and he prescribed me some ibuprofen. It helped a lot with my back pain, however, I still have the popping on my groin and in my lower back.
Now I'm on my 8th week feeling a lot better (All praise to our lord)! I can run atleast! but I still have popping. It is definitely Snapping Hip Syndrome.

So how long does it take to heal so I can get the stuffs I was doing before? I have to perform on some dances and stuffs but I couldn't! so please tell me what to do to get it healed? and how long it will take to heal? Thank You very much!

It is impossible to know. Usually, simple reassurance that nothing serious is wrong is sufficient. A sort course of anti-inflammatory medications, or possibly a cortisone injection will help control inflammation if this is contributing to the problem. Physical therapy may be useful for stretching out the muscles and tendons that cause a snapping hip and may help prevent the problem.

Surgery is rarely necessary, and reserved for patients who have severe symptoms for long periods of time with adequate trial of non-operative treatments. If this is the case, surgery to relax the tendons, or remove the cartilage tear may help with the symptoms of a snapping hip.
