What exactly is hip tendinitis? And is it supposed to last fifteen years?I have been suffering from hip pain for over fifteen years now, on both sides. It does not matter if I am standing, sitting or laying in any position, I am always in pain. I believe it happened from when I was pregnant back in 1991. My husband and I at the time were homeless, and I spent my entire pregnancy in the back of our pick-up truck. No mattress or cushioning other than a few sleeping bags under us when we slept at night. I have received multiple (and wrong) diagnoses for it over the years. Another doctor (my current one) thinks it is hip tendinitis. How can he tell for certain? He only gave me a basic exam, mostly pushing my legs in and out, and then felt where the pain was. The x-ray I had taken awhile back, showed nothing. But from what I've read online about this, it's an injury that heals up, and goes away fairly quickly. But I've been in severe pain now, for over fifteen years. And the past six, have been the worst. Is this supposed to last this long? He put me on Mobic for it, but I'm not sure about using it, as it has a lot of potentially life-threatening side effects. In the past, I've used everything from plain tylenol and motrin, to codeine 3's and 4's, vicodin, percocet, and even morphine once to help stop the pain. Very few of them worked, and none worked completely. Is there any other medications that might work? I have tried to discuss my concerns with my doctor, but he will not listen, and honestly does not care about answering any questions. But, I am on Medi-Cal (like Medi-Caid), and he's pretty much the only doctor I can see, where I live. Any help, information, online website recommendations, would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

tendonitis does not last 15 years, but it is not a condition that goes away on it's own;; could be bursitis, could be arthritis, could be your back, it can honestly be anything;; I would contact your insurance company & tell them your dilemma & that you need a referral, hopefully they can help you, but ya need a doc who cares just a tad more than the one you have.. good luck!!
