Hip pain: I'm 38 weeks pregnant, are these signs of labor approaching?

I'm 38 weeks pregnant, are these signs of labor approaching?I'm 38 weeks pregnant, lately I have been losing sleep at night because I have been experiencing very sharp pains in my hip and pain/pressure on my pelvis. Sometimes I would wake up in the morning with numbness in my thighs, the type of numbness you get from period pain. During my pregnancy I've had back pain in the middle of my back, but lately at night I'm getting in my lower back.

During the day, I feel sharp jabs around my cervix, and near my bladder. I've also been experiencing nausea which was only there in my first trimester. My midwife says that he is very much engaged.

Is anybody experiencing the same thing? What did your doctor say about this?

To ladies that have had children, did you experience similar signs to this just before you went into labor?

Any advice would be much appreciated!

Yes I had all those things the doctor said it was because he was lined up, but didn't mean labor would be soon. I had this from 35 weeks until I delivered at 39 weeks. The doctor laughed and said "the joys of pregnancy!"

I'd like to tell you he's on his way, but it doesn't mean that necessarily. I had back lower back pain, my ob said it was the baby getting into place. The numbness I had too, that was from by hips, they actually popped out of place, and were pinching some nerves. I was 3 cm dialated and 90% effaced for 3 weeks ( I was a week late). I know you are probably sick of being pregnant and want to hold your baby, but just relax. I was there 7 months ago and didn't listen, but take time for yourself. You won't get hours to sit and read undisturbed or paint your fingernail, or just lay around watching movies for a long time. Hope your labor goes well. Oh and I had back labor, I pray you don't.
