Snapping Hip Syndrome - pain relief?I've got Snapping Hip Syndrome, and the pain is really bad. It doesn't always hurt when it snaps, but it does ache most days. Usually it's just a normal ache that you just get used to, but sometimes it's really bad, like today. Putting a hot water bottle on it helps a lot, and I'm taking lots of ibuprofen and paracetamol, but the females in my family have a weakness for getting stomach ulcers (my grandmother, mother and sister all have one), and my stomach usually feels quite uncomfortable after I've stuffed myself with ibuprofen all day. Is there anything else I can do to help relieve pain? By the way, I live in England (if that's relevant). Thank you very much.

Hi, i don't know anything about your hip but i have found that there is a unit out there call the " tens" and it is used for pain releif. I have one and found it to help. it is a pain blocker and is very easy to use. it is on the net. I asked and similar question and that was the answer i got , i am glad i listened. good luck

You need to be stretching the muscles in your outer hip and buttocks (look on google images if you dont know any). The reason you have that is b/c your illiotibial (IT) band is moving over your greater trochanter (outer hip bone) and the IT band is tight. You need to do the stretches everyday, once a day. Hold each stretch 30 seconds. Try that and see if it helps.
