Cloudy urine and groin pain?I'm an athletic 17 year old who was just diagnosed with a labral tear in my hip, i'm due to have surgery by the end of the month but the doctors still arn't 100 % sure that is whats causing all the pain i'm having:
- I can't remember the last time I had clear or close to clear urine. (I don't take any daily vitamins)
- It hurts to start urination but not during
- I always have a constant gnawing ache about the size of a softball in my right hip/groin. If you were to place the softball over the bump of the femoral artery and moved in toward my bellybutton about an inch.
- And most often lately my urine has been semi-cloudy.
I'm worried that not all of this is due to the labral tear and i'll be stuck with this pain after surgery and spent all the money to not have the pain all go away. Is something else wrong? Or is all this to be fixed my the arthroscopy of my right hip labrum?
Frank
I will assume that by cloudy, you don't just mean the usual shade of amber that varies based on how hydrated you are.
Cloudy urine can be for some harmless reasons. If a little vinegar added to your urine instantly clears it up, this is a harmless cloudiness from phosphates in your diet (usually from milk). Most of the other possible reasons require medical tests. My guess is infection.
There are many serious reasons that your urine could be cloudy. Combined with the pain upon urination, you need to be seen by a nephrologist (kidney doctor). Orthopedists can be very focused on the joints and miss other issues. These other symptoms should not be just ignored until after your surgery.
Truth
Dude it certainly may be two things. You could have a UTI a urinary tract infection. Or something more serious. You have told the docs about the urination problems? You should this is not to be messed with. Get yourself seen at least by your internist.
