Hip pain: bad pain on my left side near my hip bone?

bad pain on my left side near my hip bone?i got my appendix out about 5 years ago so it isnt that but i started having pains a few days ago but yesterday and today espcailly it got worse especially on my left side near my hip bone

any idea of what it could be? or how to lessen the pain?
